Inspired by technique of Kirigami to make 3D structures out of 2D surfaces and works of Prof. Miyamoto, I created buttons made out of sheet materials.
By changing the cut structure and material, one can change the speed of return and determine the haptic feedback. The buttons were fabricated using Cricuit vinyl cutter an easily accessible machine.
Try out with paper and 0.5um Kapton Film and 0.7um Kapton Film.

By adding copper tape to both sides, the 2.5D haptic interface becomes interactive.

After initial testings, I settled for the 0.5um Kapton Film and made a 5 buttons keyboard. The keyboard was connected to Xiao SAMD21 with inbuilt QTouch function and thus became a captive sensor.

In collaboration with Lancelot, who connected the inputs to MAX, the keyboad can now play music.
